Varsity Football vs Pearland Dawson

footballOur varsity football team suffered a tough loss this past Friday night against the Dawson Eagles making us 1-1 in district play. Alex Fontenot, and Quintin Morris both contributed in scoring efforts. Next Thursday come out and support our Longhorns as we work to get back in the winning column. We will take on the Brazoswood Buccaneers game time 7pm at Traylor Stadium.

Sub-Varsity Football vs. Pearland Dawson

footballThe freshman maroon football team lost a tough game to Dawson last night by a score of 7-26.  The lone Longhorn touchdown came from a Mikey White pass to Tim Odusola.  The point after from Carlos Villagomez was good.  The Longhorns will take on Shadow Creek next Thursday here at the Ranch. The freshmen black team took a tough lost to Dawson High School 44 to 20. Two Touch down passes were thrown by Michael Wigham to Sylvester Idehen. Idehen Also ran a kick off back. A two point conversion was scored by Brett Jetton. The longhorns are now 0 and 2 in district play. Last night the JV Black team tied the Dawson Eagles in a defensive struggle. The Longhorns kept the Eagles out of the end zone several times with superb play by Jalleel Thomas, Jacob Wheat, and Jarret Johnson. Offensively for the Longhorns Caleb Runnels was 4 for 7 with Justus Williams the leading receiver. Next week the Longhorns will be off but return the following week at Brazoswood.

Varsity Football Beats Alief Hastings

footballOur football team came away with a victory this past Friday night against the Hasting Bears making us 1-0 in District play. Defense had a solid performance. Chima Amushie intercepted a pass and ran it all the way back for a Longhorn touchdown in the 1st quarter. Contributing in touchdown efforts on offense was Alex Fontenot, Jay’Ren Miller, and Sebastian Arellano. Antonio Jackson also threw a nice pass to Quintin Morris in which he made a nice move to get himself into the end zone. This Friday we take on the Dawson Eagles game time 7:00 PM at “The Rig” Pearland Stadium. We look forward to seeing you there!

Freshman Football vs. Alief Hastings

footballThe Freshmen Black team started district play against Alief Hastings. They took a tough loss 20-16. Brett Jetton scored on a running play and the conversion. Eric Gipson scored on a running play. Come support the Longhorns as they take on Dawson High School Sept. 29th at 4:30 at Dawson High School.  The Freshman Maroon Football team traveled to Alief Hastings Thursday night and came away with a 31-0 win. Ben Taylor blocked a Bear punt to give the Longhorn offense good field position. Derrick Simon was able to cross the goal line for the touchdown. The PAT was no good. Andre Falquay would score next for the Longhorns with a Carlos Villagomez extra point. The defense would continue to keep the Bears out of the end zone and give the ball back to the offense. Maveric Cates would then score to give the Longhorns a 19-0 lead at half. The defense showed up big again with a Trent Fuqua interception. Falquay would score again with no PAT. Late in the 3rd quarter Greg Gonzalez would pound his way into the end zone for the final touchdown. The offensive line was brutal up front, making big holes for the explosive backs to power through with receivers blocking downfield for the touchdowns. The defense did an outstanding job keeping the Bears out of the end zone all night. The Longhorns travel to Pearland Dawson this Thursday as they go 1-0 in district play.

Varsity Football vs. The Woodlands

footballOur football team suffered a tough loss this past Friday night to the Woodlands, 42 to 14. Alex Fontenot scored two touchdowns. We plan on getting back in the winning column this Friday as we open up district play against Alief Hastings, game time 7 p.m. at Crump Stadium. We really appreciate your support and look forward to seeing you at the game. Let’s go Longhorns!!

Sub-Varsity Football vs. The Woodlands

footballThe freshmen black team played an amazing game against the woodlands but came up short 26-20. Brett Jetton scored three times and scored the conversion. Michael Hayes had one interception and Michael Whigam connected with Brett Jetton for one of his three touchdowns. The next game is next Thursday against Alief Hastings.  Last night the JV Black team fell to The Woodlands 48-6. Jonathon Fisher ran back a kickoff for the Longhorns only touchdown. Next week the Longhorns travel to Alief Hastings to open district play.  The Freshman Maroon football team picked up their first win against the Woodlands last night 18-7. Ashton Stredick scored twice for the Longhorns in the second quarter with the PATs no good. The Longhorns led at the half 12-0 and wouldn’t score again until the 4th quarter. Stredick broke on an 80 yard touchdown run to put the Longhorns up 18-0. The Highlanders managed to score in the last few minutes for the final 18-7. The Freshman Maroon will travel to Alief Hastings next Thursday with a 1-2 record.

Football Beats Nuevo Leon

footballOur football team came away with a close victory at the end of the game Saturday night beating Nuevo Leon 17 to 14. Erik Michel kicked the game winning field goal with 14 seconds remaining in the game. Alex Fontenot and Antonio Jackson both had scoring efforts on the night. This Friday we take on the Woodlands 7pm at Traylor Stadium. Please come out and show your support.
