volleyballThe Longhorn Volleyball program traveled to Sweeny High School Friday night to take on the Lady Bulldogs. Both subvarsity teams came home with wins. The freshman team won with scores of 25-6 and 25-15. The JV beat Sweeny with scores of 25-12 and 25-15. The Varsity Volleyball Team defeated the Lady Bulldogs with scores of 25-13, 25-16, and 25-22. With the win, the Longhorns are now 25-7 and are on a 15 game winning streak. Kill leaders were Allyson Dernehl with 9, Valerie Valerian with 8, and Ainsley Mandell with 7. Block leaders were Ambrielle Logan with 5 and Mattie Ward with 4. Dig leader was Audrey Tuttle with 12. Set assist leaders were Abbey Messick with 15 and Olivia Gray with 12. Serve ace leader was Abbey Messick with 2. Longhorn Volleyball Player of the Match was #11 Ainsley Mandell with 7 kills, 3 blocks, 3 set attempts, and 1 dig. The Longhorns will take the court again Tuesday night here at Longhorn gym as they take on #1 state ranked, class 6A The Woodlands. Come out and support your Longhorn Volleyball Teams.
