Commitment for the Future!

Commitment for the Future!

George Ranch High School has accomplished extraordinary academic and athletic achievements in our short, four year existence. It is awe inspiring to see the way our community has responded and embraced the culture created around our Longhorn Campuses. School pride is spreading through our neighborhoods in epic proportions, and not just among our current GRHS families but our future Longhorn families as well.

I believe this is due to the leadership, commitment and dedication of the GRHS Administration, Faculty, Staff, and Longhorn Coaches. GRHS staff is doing more than just educating our young student-athletes, they are providing valuable life lessons through competition and creating a foundation for success for our children.

This commitment to success from our Coaches and student-athletes, in conjunction with community pride, creates an environment where both current and future students want to get involved in the Longhorn athletic programs.

Growth in our athletic programs presents a unique set of challenges for the GRHS Athletic Booster Club. Our primary mission is to support the GRHS Athletic Program so a well-balanced and diverse program exists to provide opportunities for all student athletes and strives to:

  • Provide support and assistance to the Longhorn student athletes and the athletic programs in which the students participate.
  • Enhance the image of the athletic organizations of George Ranch High School.
  • Create a scholarship program where as funds are generated in an effort to provide scholarships for outstanding seniors who have been representative of the high ideals of athletic competition of George Ranch High School.
  • The success of the Athletic Booster Club hinges around the support of parents and friends of George Ranch High School. Achieving this success starts with joining the Athletic Booster Club and getting personally involved in all sponsored activities.

As the number of our student-athletes increase so does the need for equipment, uniforms and training aids. The Athletic Booster Club must be able to adapt with the needs of our athletic programs. So I encourage you to get involved and join the Booster Club and make a “Commitment for the Future”.

Please feel free to contact any of our Board Members should you have questions or comments. Volunteers are always needed and appreciated.

Welcome back and see you around the “Ranch”.

2013 – 2014 Wrap Up

GeorgeRanchHSI find myself drafting this letter the morning after the GRHS Baseball team captured the District Title in an extra inning thriller with a 5-3 victory over rival Foster. In fact, it has been a very exciting year for all Longhorn Athletic Programs. Many of our teams earned District Titles, UIL State Playoff Berths, and advanced deep into state playoff brackets, and we are still not done as our spring sports programs begin post-season play.

The GRHSABC would like to extend their congratulations to all our Coaches and Athletes for a very memorable year as well as our Best Wishes to those teams still competing. It is very exciting to see these young student-athletes building a legacy for future Longhorn generations. That is a testament to the entire GRHS community.

Like our sports teams the GRHSABC has accomplished much during this school year. As our sports programs increase in numbers so does the need for equipment, uniforms and training aids. Ensuring all our athletes and coaches have appropriate resources is a primary mission for the ABC. Through the hard work and dedication of the GRHSABC Board of Directors, Parent Reps, and numerous volunteers and through the generosity of our Corporate Sponsors and all of you who contributed to the ABC through membership and donations, I am pleased to announce the following highlights.

In 2013-14 the GRHSABC:

We would like to thank our outgoing Board Members; Chad Yeaman, Kevin Duesterhoft and Jason D’Ambra and to congratulate and welcome our new Board Members; Lisa Watson, Jeff Galvan and Stuart Rimes.

Our Booster Club’s ability to assist Longhorn sports programs depends solely on our members, sponsors, and volunteers generosity. We encourage everyone to get involved, please feel free to contact any of our Board Members should you have questions or comments. Volunteers are always needed and appreciated.

Have a great summer and see you next Year.
