The George Ranch High School Athletic Booster Club is honored to make 7 scholarships totaling $12,000 available to boy and girl student athletes at George Ranch High School:
2 – $2000 General ABC Scholarships for Boys
2 – $2000 General ABC Scholarships for Girls
1 – $1500 “Living the Dream” Scholarship for Boys
1 – $1500 “Living the Dream” Scholarship for Girls
1 – $1000 “Always Believe” Scholarship (Boy or Girl)
The following requirements must be met for all applicants:
Student must be a senior graduating in the Spring of 2014.
Student must belong to a family that is a member in good standing of the George Ranch High School Athletic Booster Club and the George Ranch High School Parent Teacher Organization. (Join the ABC | Join the PTO)
Student must be in good standing and have completed a full season of any athletic program that is listed on their application.
Student must complete the scholarship application and essays and turn it into Ms. Kubena, College and Career Specialist.
A transcript must accompany the application; therefore, all outstanding school fees must be paid.
The deadline to turn in the application is March 21st. Late applications will not be accepted. All candidates will be notified, via mail, once the evaluation and award process is complete. Decisions are final. Recipients will be recognized at the Spring Award Ceremony in May. All funds will be sent directly to the college/university and applied to the recipient’s financial account.
Through the hard work and dedication of Mr. Jerry Toups, we are proud to announce the first George Ranch High School “Friday Night Lights” compilation disc. You can order your very own copy on DVD or Blu Ray. Order one today as a keepsake for your student athlete. It includes highlight videos for all football games and a special edition end of the season highlight reel, only available on the DVD/Blu Ray. All proceeds go towards the GRHS ABC “Always Believe” Scholarship fund.

The Fall Sports Award Ceremony will be held on Monday, January 27th, at 6:30pm in the GRHS Auditorium. Join us to honor our Football, Volleyball and Cross Country programs!

We’ll bring everyone up to date on happenings with the booster club, Longhorn athletic programs and review/ratify this year’s budget. The Athletic Booster Club would like to invite all parents of athletes to join GRHS ABC. The ABC supports athletic scholarships and assists all sports with necessary uniforms and supplies. Over the past couple of years we purchased dirt for the baseball and softball fields, volleyball referee stands, tennis team signage, a sprinkler system for ARJH football field, practice and game uniforms, and much more. Regardless of whether or not you can volunteer, we encourage all parents to join. Member registration fees are a part of our fundraising effort. Memberships start at $30.00. The GRHS ABC needs parent volunteers for each sport. If you are interested in being a team representative, let us know on our website. We also can use assistance with event planning, merchandise sales, fundraising, scholarship selection committees, as well as individual parent support for each sport. Reliant is committed to recognizing top student athletes throughout the Houston Area. That is why we have partnered with the Houston Texans for the 9th annual Scholarship for Champions Program! We have extended the deadline to September 13thso you have plenty of time to nominate your deserving student athletes.
This scholarship awards eight $5,000 scholarships to high school student-athletes who have exhibited remarkable leadership in athletics, academics and community involvement. Now, we need you to help us identify them by submitting a nomination!
Specifically, each nominee must:
Be a full-time high school student scheduled to graduate in the Spring of 2014
Planning to pursue a college degree (enrolled in college in the fall of 2014)
Have participated in a varsity sport between August 1, 2012 and the present
Be nominated by a an administrator, coach or teacher
A complimentary Gold Card Club pass to all home athletic events is available to residents of Lamar CISD, age 65+, through the district Community Relations office. The office is located at 3911 Avenue I in Rosenberg. You can call 832-223-0330 with questions about the Gold Card.
The 2013 school year starts on August 26th and we have an exciting year of Longhorn sports that is already underway! You can keep up with the sports programs here on the ABC website. We have a Calendar for all sports events and you can go to our News page to get updates about specific programs.
The ABC is kicking into full gear so that we can fulfill our mission of supporting the student athletes of George Ranch High School. We need your help to be successful in this endeavor. There are many ways that you can get involved with the ABC:
Become an ABC Member: By joining the ABC, you provide the much needed financial resources that we need to realize our mission and provide support for our sports programs and athletes. We had over 200 members last year and we want to increase that number this year. There are several levels of membership. Check out our Join Now! page, determine which level is right for you, and sign up. You can do it all online. If you have any questions about membership, contact Susan Tse at membership@grhsabc.com.
Become an ABC Corporate Sponsor: Corporate sponsorships are critical to our success and it helps to build a relationship between local businesses and our schools. Your tax deductible donation goes a long way to help us provide support to our student athletes. If you own your own business or are self-employed, consider a sponsorship with the ABC. If the company you work for has a program that supports local organizations, please ask them to sponsor the ABC. Sponsorships can be done online on our Join Now! page, where you will also find pertinent documents related to our IRS 501c3 designation. If you have any questions about sponsorships, contact Kevin Deusterhoft at sponsorship@grhsabc.com.
Volunteer your time: The ABC coordinates and orchestrates support at a lot of athletic events throughout the year. We need parents that can assist in these endeavors. We need parent representatives for each sports program and we also need assistance with merchandise sales, event coordination, fundraising, planning and much more! If you have a student athlete, your commitment to volunteer time will pay off big for our student athletes and sports programs. Use our Volunteer Form to let us know how you can help out!
Spread the word: Most of our coaches use social media, like Facebook and Twitter, to send out updates regarding sports activities. Most of the traffic driven to this website happens through these outlets. Follow us on Twitter and Like us on Facebook to join the conversation. We aggregate all of the tweets from coaches and staff through our Twitter account so that you have a one stop shop for information. Any updates to our website are also posted to Twitter and Facebook. If you are on Twitter, then tweet at games and events and include @GRHSABC, or use hashtag #ghrsabc in the tweet and we’ll get the word out!
