Proud Past, Bright Future!

GeorgeRanchHSIt has always been a belief on mine that before you can plan for the future you must first reflect briefly on the past. Please indulge me while I recognize two special groups of people.

First, our Inaugural Class of 2013 Student Athletes, without a shadow of doubt, these young ladies and gentlemen leave the “Ranch” in better shape than they found it. They have created legacies and traditions for our underclassmen to follow; legacies that include humility in victory, character in adversity, unwavering integrity, self-discipline, work ethic and accountability

Secondly, our outgoing & past GRHS ABC Board, this dedicated and committed group of professionals have created and provided the “blueprints” for the successful operation of present and future GRHS Booster Clubs. Last year alone, they created a new GRHSABC website that is second to none, awarded scholarships to our first graduating seniors, provided thousands of dollars in financial assistance to GR teams, and held a very successful “Boots & Bling” fundraiser.

For all their efforts over the past years, we offer our thanks and gratitude. Their efforts will ensure a bright future at the “Ranch” for the 2013-2014 calendar year and many years to come.

Speaking of the future, the mission of the George Ranch Athletic Booster Club is to support the GRHS Athletic Program so a well-balanced and diverse program exists to provide opportunities for all student athletes and strives to:

  • Provide support and assistance to the Longhorn student athletes and the athletic programs in which the students participate.
  • Enhance the image of the athletic organizations of George Ranch High School.
  • Create a scholarship program where as funds are generated in an effort to provide scholarships for outstanding seniors who have been representative of the high ideals of athletic competition of George Ranch High School.
  • The success of the Athletic Booster Club hinges around the support of parents and friends of George Ranch High School. Achieving this success starts with joining the Athletic Booster Club and getting personally involved in all sponsored activities.

Please join us in reflecting on a proud past to ensure a bright future, by joining the GRHS ABC. Please feel free to contact any of our Board Members should you have questions or comments. Volunteers are always needed and appreciated.

Welcome back and see you around the “Ranch”.

HOOK ‘EM!

Foster Senior Bailey Cooper

BaileyLonghorns,

Please see below information regarding services for Foster High School senior, Bailey Cooper. Please continue to keep the Cooper family as well as Foster High School in your thoughts and prayers. Emails of support to Foster High School staff and principal Gene Tomas are encouraged as it is very difficult for a campus to sustain the loss of a student. GRHS PTO will continue to support the campus today through the many donations received on Thursday. Thank you to our Longhorn staff, students and community for their support of Foster High School.

Leslie Haack

Services for Bailey Cooper are set for 10 AM

Note from Mrs. Haack regarding yesterday’s tragedy at Foster

GeorgeRanchHS

Longhorns,

Foster High School and our LCISD family has suffered a tragic loss. Foster lost a member of their senior class in a terrible car accident that occurred yesterday afternoon. I know many of you have heard about the tragic loss as this news spreads quickly through our community. Please keep this young lady’s family, friends and the Foster High School staff and students in your thoughts and prayers. Information will be forthcoming soon regarding plans for her service. She is a member of the Foster swim team and therefore very close to our Longhorn swimmers as well as Ranger and Mustang swimmers. Our district crisis team will be on site at Foster High School to assist students in distress and our campus counseling team will be available at George Ranch to assist with any Longhorn students/swimmers that may be in distress.

The GRHS PTO is ready to support the Foster High School campus and district crisis team with food throughout the day on Thursday and Friday. If you would like to contribute to PTO, you may drop off food, drink or money donations to the front office. Veronica Moreno will be coordinating the effort from our front office with Mindy Brown who will be on the Foster campus along with Lisa Watson, PTO president.

Urgent News from Foster

URGENT URGENT

GRHS PTO has received news that a Foster High School student was killed in an accident today after school. The young girl was a senior, and the school administration is devastated. All emergency council will be at Foster HS tomorrow and Friday.

We are asking the parents of GRHS to donate bottled water, Kleenex, finger foods for the staff of Foster, snack items for students/teachers, paper products to eat lunch on, etc. The GRHS PTO will be collecting items tomorrow morning at 7:00am – 8:15am at the front drop off, and again on Friday.

This is a horrific tragedy, and the entire community will need to come together to support our friends at Foster. Mrs. Haack is sick over this terrible accident, as we all are. Please do what you can.

For more information, please contact Lisa Watson (PTO President) lisawith3@comcast.net.
