Each student has a goal of 30 email addresses to input and can share their donation request via text and social media. Baseball v. Santa Fe (Bi-District Round)

baseball

The Longhorn Varsity baseball team advances to Area in the 2015 State Baseball playoffs after an exciting series against Santa Fe this weekend. A 2-0 win on Friday with Kevin Kopps pitching the complete game shutout saw the Longhorns traveling to Santa Fe on Saturday. A 5-1 loss in Game 2 forced a Game 3 for the Longhorns and Indians. The game went back and forth and was tied 6-6 after the 7th inning. The tough Longhorn defense kept the Indians off the board, and a Brady Burns lead off homerun in the top of the 9th proved to be the game winner for the Longhorns to advance. Brad Greer, Ryan Harris, Carson McManus, and Cody Tiemann each contributed on the mound, but it was a total team effort for the Longhorn victory. The next round will begin this Friday in Sweeny at 7:00pm as the Longhorns take on the Crosby Cougars. Game 2 will be Saturday at 12:00pm in Sweeny with Game 3 (if needed) 30 minutes after.
