The Freshmen Black Team put up a fight but the battle was lost to The Dickinson Gators 34 to 0. The Freshmen Black Team’s record is now 1-1. come support our Longhorns as they play the Fulshear Chargers next Thursday at Charger Field. The Freshman Maroon football team lost a tough battle against Dickinson last night 0-12. Last night the JV Black football tied the Dickinson Gators 6-6. The team fought hard the entire game with defense making several goal line stands. Semaj Brown scored on an 80 yard run to tie the game. Jacob Detiveaux picked off the final pass of the game to keep the Gators out of the endzone for the last time . Next week the Longhorns travel to Fulshear.

Our football team traveled to Weslaco, TX Friday to face the Panthers. Despite the long trip our team was able to come away with a 38-0 victory! Our defense picked up right where they left off last season with Toby Ndukwe scoring our first defensive touchdown of the year! Our defense allowed only 4 first downs and 83 total yards to the Weslaco Panthers. On our offense, Josh Whitmore, Alex Fontenot, David Fisher, and Zach Hunton all contributed in scoring drives and our kicker Erik Michel was perfect on the night with his field goal and PAT attempts. This Friday we take on Dickinson Gators game time 7pm at Traylor Stadium.

Tonight (4/7) is the Football and State Championship Ring ceremony at the GRHS Auditorium. The event starts at 7 PM and is for all sub varsity and varsity football players, their families, and friends. Rings must be paid in full to Uptown Diamond (Matt Hall 832-517-4842) prior the ring ceremony. The State championship rings will be presented to the athletes who have purchased them and paid in full.

Congratulations to our Varsity football team the 5A, Division 1 State Champions! Thank you to the coaches and staff who made this all possible as school history was made Friday night at NRG stadium. Congratulations to Darius Anderson, the offensive player of the game and to Toby Ndukwe the defensive player of the game.
