The Boys Varsity soccer team traveled to Port Lavaca Calhoun this past Tuesday where they fell to the Sand Crabs 1-2 in the final seconds of the game. Scoring for the Longhorns was Sophomore Christian Metoyer with an assist from Freshman Erik Michel. The Longhorns take on Foster High school at home tonight at the Ranch.
The Varsity Boys Soccer Team lost a tough game against the Lamar mustangs Friday night, 2-0. The Longhorns look forward to their next match where they take on Port Lavaca Calhoun next Tuesday night.
The Boys Varsity Soccer team played Hamshire-Fannett and won 6-1. Goals were scored by Daniel Eke (2), Julian Centeno, Erik Michel, Cristian Metoyer, and Jay Clark.
The Boys Varsity Soccer Team played a tough match against the Brazoswood Buccaneers where they lost 2-1. Scoring for the Longhorns was Senior Julian Centeno.
The Boys Varsity Soccer Team played against Texas City last Friday night and tied the game 1-1. Daniel Eke scored for the longhorns off an assist from Christian Metoyer.
The Boys Varsity soccer team traveled to Wharton High School where they defeated the Tigers 5-2. Scoring for the Longhorns were Eric Michel, Julian Centeno, Mason Mercado, each with 1 goal, and 2 goals scored by Daniel Eke. Assists came from Julian Centeno.
The Boys JV soccer team traveled to Needville for a Varsity competition against the BlueJays. The team lost 4-3. Goals were scored by Emanuel Santos (2) & Christian Centeno. Assists were by Santos, Alec Garcia, and Evan Elkins.
The Boys Soccer team traveled to Katy to take on the Katy Tigers last Friday. The JV won by a score of 1-0 with the lone goal coming from sophomore Emanuel Santos off of an assist by freshman Andrew Spencer. The Varsity lost a hard-fought tight game 3-2 with goals coming from freshman Erik Michel.
Girls soccer tryouts will be held from 4:00-5:45pm on November 30th through December 2nd. If you are interested in being a part of the Longhorn Girl’s Soccer program, please see Coach Pratt in Room 1511 for more information. Remember you must have a completed LCISD athletic physical on file to tryout!
Boys Soccer will be having tryouts on Tuesday, December 1st through Thursday, December 3rd. Please see Coach Torres in Room 2319 to sign up. You must have an athletic physical on file to participate.
George Ranch High School, Reading Jr. High School and Polly Ryon Middle School have partnered with Simply Rewards national fundraising company to do a maroon track fundraising campaign during the month of September. This program is designed to raise immediate funds through a 4- week fundraiser called Rewards 365. All Longhorn Nation students are asked to download the Rewards 365 mobile app, create an account using their assigned Group ID number, and then input email addresses of family, friends, and co-workers. If they did not receive one, use Athletics ID#RW1233X2328.
Emails are then sent to your contacts with a personalized request from your child, requesting a donation to the athletics program. Each donor also receives a membership to the Longhorn Nation Rewards website, as well as, $50 added to their Rewards travel account.
Each student has a goal of 30 email addresses to input and can share their donation request via text and social media. Even though this is a campus-wide fundraiser, the athletics department will directly benefit from this program. Please support your student by making sure they have joined a group and by helping them with collecting email addresses. Thank you for your support.
